Tehran festival to hold scholar sessions

The 34th edition of the Tehran International Short Film Festival has scheduled to hold scholar sessions on the sidelines.

A number of Iranian and foreign scholars will attend the sessions, the organizers announced on Tuesday.

Among the scholars are Polish filmmaker Andrej Bednarek and Estonian director Peter Murdmaa.

Another famous international figure to take part at the sideline program is Gipsy Chang from the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts.

Iranian historian Mohammad Dehqani and film critic Saedi Aqiqi are invited to deliver speeches during the event.

Iran’s Rakhshan Bani-Etemad, Mehrdad Oskouei, Shahram Mokri and Majid Barzegar are also among the cineastes invited to the program.

The event includes national competition, international competition and out of competition sections.

The 34th edition of the Tehran International Short Film Festival, to be directed by Seyyed-Sadeq Mousavi, is slated for October 17-22 in the Iranian capital city.

Organized by IYCS, affiliated to the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance and a member of International Short Film Conference, the festival is aimed to provide an opportunity for young filmmakers to exchange their experiences.
